The “Beginner Guides” Erasmus+ project, hosted by Yükseliş College in Turkey, brought together students from Galileo Galilei Science High School in Potenza, Italy, and 95. Vidusskola in Riga, Latvia, from October 13 to October 20. This initiative aimed to promote cultural exchange and educational collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds. The week-long program focused on exploring Turkey’s rich history and culture through various activities centered around the city of Adana and surrounding areas.

During the project, students participated in numerous activities that highlighted Turkey’s cultural and historical richness. These included city tours, educational workshops, and opportunities for cultural exchange.
City Tours
Adana City Exploration
The week kicked off with a series of exciting city tours in Adana, a vibrant city known for its unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Visit to Sabancı Mosque: One of the first stops was the Sabancı Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Turkey. Students marveled at its impressive architecture, including its grand dome and beautifully designed interior. The visit offered insights into Islamic architecture and its significance in Turkish culture.
Exploring the Stone Bridge (Taşköprü): The ancient Stone Bridge, a testament to Roman engineering, provided a historical perspective on the city’s development. Students learned about the bridge’s history and its role in facilitating trade and communication throughout the centuries.
Adana Archaeology Museum: This museum houses a vast collection of artifacts from various historical periods. Students engaged with the exhibits, gaining a deeper understanding of the region’s rich archaeological heritage, from the Hittites to the Ottomans.
Excursions to Antakya and Arsuz

Saint Pierre Church in Antakya: Known as one of the oldest churches in the world, Saint Pierre Church offered students a glimpse into early Christian history. The visit fostered discussions about the intersections of different religions and cultures.
